SKINNY vs CURVY HYPOCRISY

Political correctness has gone mad and is destroying our world. I can’t remember when you could make a joke or state your opinion and not be condemned by everyone. Remember the pin up girls before the 1960s, like Marilyn Monroe, there was nothing skinny about them and they were considered attractive. Fat? No. Maybe if we talk about the standards in Hollywood or in the fashion industry. Then came the iconic british model Twiggy and skinny became more popular, this pressured people to be thin and causing ‘bigger’ people to have low self-esteem. I have always been the skinny type, until I had my son and now number two. I would often get comments like ‘do you starve yourself’ or ‘go eat something’ and those who know me, know I eat more than the average person does. I love food and snacks – maybe too much. I want to be fit and exercise, so instead of judging me for wanting something different we should support each other. It is possible to focus on your children and still be fit and take care of your body, contrary to what some people seem to think.

Most people, skinny or curvy, can’t help their weight or where it is distributed. I believe every body is different and shouldn’t be compared, in fact it should be embraced because eveyone is great the way they are built. When people say ‘curvy is sexy’ – ‘real women have curves’ or ‘skinny is better’- ‘Thin women are not real’ they are wrong. Everyone is in their own way and right and wrong is different to everyone because it’s an opinion. My point is, stop saying this or that is better, because you are beeing a hypocrite! There is nothing wrong with beeing skinny or curvy. It doesnt mean you have an eating disorder or like it, also it does not give you the right to be mean. We should support loving our bodies in every size and shape. SO STOP LABELING.
